Stations between Dhaka and Kishoreganj
Timetable listings show these stops for Kishoreganj Express. The Egarosindhur trains use the same line. Small stops can change, so check your ticket.
- Dhaka (Kamalapur)
- Dhaka Airport (Biman Bandar)
- Narsingdi
- Methikanda
- Bhairab Bazar Junction
- Kuliarchar
- Bajitpur
- Sararchar
- Manikkhali
- Gachihata
- Kishoreganj
If you live in Bajitpur, Kuliarchar or Sararchar, you do not need to go to Kishoreganj town first. Search the app from your own station to see the trains that stop there and the seats left. The Kishoreganj to Dhaka train usually stops for only a minute or two at these small stations, so be on the platform early.
Bhairab Bazar Junction is also in Kishoreganj district. It is 86 km from Dhaka on the fare chart, and it has many more trains towards the capital. People from the south of the district often find it easier to start there.
Dhaka to Kishoreganj Train Ticket Price 2026
The fare depends on the seat class, not on the train. These are the adult one-way fares listed for the Dhaka to Kishoreganj train in 2026. Snigdha and AC fares include VAT.

| Seat class | Counter fare | Online total per seat |
|---|---|---|
| Shovan | Tk 150 | Tk 170 |
| Shovan Chair (S_CHAIR) | Tk 180 | Tk 200 |
| First Class Chair or Seat | Tk 276 | Tk 296 |
| Snigdha (AC chair) | Tk 345 | Tk 365 |
| AC Seat (AC_S) | Tk 414 | Tk 434 |
- Not every train carries every class. The app shows which seats are on your train.
- Some older lists show lower prices, such as Tk 150 for Shovan Chair. Fares for trips over 100 km went up on 4 May 2024, so those figures are out of date.
- The fare is the same for the Kishoreganj to Dhaka train in the opposite direction.
- Children aged 3 to 12 need a cheaper child ticket. Older children pay the adult fare.
Counter tickets have no service charge, while online tickets add Tk 20 per seat. For example, two Shovan Chair seats cost Tk 360 at the counter or Tk 400 online. The final price on the checkout page is always the one that counts.
Which seat class is worth it?
For a four-hour ride, Shovan Chair is the best value for most people. You get a numbered, padded seat for Tk 180. Shovan is cheaper, but the seats are bench-style and less comfortable.
In the hot months, Snigdha is worth the extra Tk 165. The coach is air-conditioned and quieter, which helps with children or older family members. AC Seat costs more again and is mainly for those who want a little extra space.
What Happened to Mail and Local Trains?
Many older guides still list cheap mail and local trains for Kishoreganj. They are not running now. A Prothom Alo report in August 2026 explained the situation on the Bhairab–Mymensingh line, which passes through Kishoreganj.
- Isha Khan Mail (39/40), once called the poor man’s train, was suspended on 12 March 2020.
- Four local trains on the line were suspended on 24 March 2020, during the pandemic.
- The last mail train, the Mymensingh (Nasirabad) Mail, was suspended from 24 August 2026 because of a shortage of locomotives.
So today, the only Dhaka to Kishoreganj train options are the three intercity trains. Railway officials have called the suspension temporary, but no date has been given for the return of the local trains. Ask at the station if you hear news of a restart.
One more intercity train uses this line. Bijoy Express links Chattogram with Jamalpur through Bhairab and the Mymensingh line, but it does not go to Dhaka, so it is not part of this timetable.

Plan a same-day return trip
The timetable makes a day trip possible in both directions. From Dhaka, take Egarosindhur Provati (737) at 7:15 AM and reach Kishoreganj at 11:10 AM. Then catch the 4:00 PM Kishoreganj to Dhaka train, Kishoreganj Express (782), and be back at Kamalapur by 8:00 PM. That gives you almost five hours in town.
From Kishoreganj, the plan works even better. Board the 6:30 AM Kishoreganj to Dhaka train, Egarosindhur Provati (738), and reach Dhaka at 10:35 AM. Go home on Egarosindhur Godhuli (749) at 6:45 PM. You get about eight hours in the capital for a hospital visit, an exam or office work.

Travel Tips for the Kishoreganj Line
- Reach early: Be at Kamalapur 30 minutes before departure. At Kishoreganj, 20 minutes is enough.
- Expect delays: Trains in Bangladesh often run 30 to 90 minutes late. On 12 June 2024, during the Eid rush, Egarosindhur Provati left Kamalapur at 9:25 AM, more than two hours late.
- Eid travel: Seats for the Kishoreganj to Dhaka train after Eid sell out as fast as the trip home. Be online at 8:00 AM sharp.
- Night arrival: Egarosindhur Godhuli reaches Kishoreganj at 10:40 PM. Arrange transport from the station in advance.
- ID and ticket: Carry your NID and keep the e-ticket on your phone.
- Find your coach: Your e-ticket shows the coach and seat number. Ask a station staff member where that coach stops, and wait near that spot before the train comes in.
- Light bags: Luggage racks are small. A backpack or one medium bag is easiest on a crowded train.
- Food and water: Carry your own snacks and water, as the trip takes around four hours.
- Stay safe: Bangladesh Railway warned in September 2025 about fake ticket sellers on Facebook. Never share your OTP or password.
