Titas train schedule: travel times between key stops

Not everyone rides the full route. Here is how long each part takes, worked out from the Titas train schedule tables above:

  • Narsingdi to Kamalapur: about 1 h 26 min on Titas 33 and 1 h 06 min on Titas 35.
  • Bhairab Bazar to Kamalapur: about 2 h 16 min on Titas 33 and 1 h 42 min on Titas 35.
  • Brahmanbaria to Bhairab Bazar: about 54 min on Titas 33 and 38 min on Titas 35.
  • Kamalapur to Narsingdi: about 1 h 13 min on Titas 34 and 1 h 29 min on Titas 36.

As you can see, a Titas Commuter train is usually quicker in the afternoon than in the early morning, when the run between Ashuganj and Bhairab takes longer.

All Stations on the Titas Commuter Train Route

The Titas Commuter train runs on the main eastern line from Kamalapur to Akhaura. Unlike intercity trains, it stops at almost every station, so it links small towns that have no other direct train to Dhaka. Here are the key stops and why they matter:

  • Tejgaon and Biman Bandar: handy for Farmgate, Karwan Bazar and Uttara.
  • Tongi Junction and Pubail: for Gazipur side passengers.
  • Ghorashal and Jinardi: for workers in the Palash and Ghorashal area.
  • Narsingdi: about 57 km from Kamalapur, the busiest stop on the way.
  • Methikanda, Srinidhi and Daulatkandi: small stations close to Bhairab.
  • Bhairab Bazar Junction: about 86 km from Kamalapur, where lines from Mymensingh and Kishoreganj meet.
  • Ashuganj and Talshahar: just across the Meghna river.
  • Brahmanbaria: 126 km from Kamalapur, the main stop on the Titas train schedule.
  • Paghachang, Bhatshala and Akhaura Junction: served only by Titas 33 and 36. Akhaura is 142 km from Kamalapur.

For other trains on this line, see our Dhaka to Narsingdi train schedule and our Bhairab to Dhaka train schedule.

Titas Commuter Train Fare

Titas is one of the cheapest ways to travel between Dhaka and Brahmanbaria. In July 2023, a Daily Star report put the official Titas Commuter train fare from Dhaka to Brahmanbaria at Tk 60 per person.

Fares on this line have changed since then. On 20 December 2025, Bangladesh Railway added a bridge (pontage) charge on six Eastern-zone routes, including Dhaka–Chattogram, the line Titas uses. The commuter fare for the full Dhaka–Chattogram trip went up from Tk 170 to Tk 190, so expect to pay a little more than Tk 60 today.

Table: Titas Commuter train fare guide

From Dhaka toRail distanceFare

Bhairab BazarAbout 86 kmCheck at station
Brahmanbaria126 kmTk 60 in 2023; check at station for today’s fare
Akhaura142 kmCheck at station

Some websites list Tk 120 to Tk 160 for Titas. Those numbers look like intercity Shovan class fares, not commuter fares, so do not rely on them. The counter clerk will tell you the exact fare, and your printed ticket shows it too.

Children aged 3 to 12 need a child ticket, which costs less than the adult fare. Counter tickets carry no online service charge, which keeps the total low for daily riders.

How to Buy a Titas Ticket: Counter or Online?

Titas Commuter train tickets are mainly sold at station counters on the day of travel. Kamalapur, Narsingdi, Bhairab Bazar and Brahmanbaria all have busy counters. At Brahmanbaria, the counter is run by the leaseholder firm that operates the train.

Tips for buying a Titas Commuter train ticket at the station counter

We could not confirm that Titas Commuter is sold online. Intercity trains on this route are sold on the e-ticket website and the Rail Sheba app, but commuter trains are usually counter-only. If Titas does show up when you search the official e-ticket website, you can book it there like any other train.

  1. Reach the station 30 minutes before departure, as queues can be long.
  2. Tell the clerk your destination, the train (Titas Commuter) and the number of tickets.
  3. Pay in cash and check the date, train name and fare on the ticket.
  4. Keep the ticket until you leave the destination station. Checkers may ask for it.

Beware of touts. In 2023, a tout was caught selling a Tk 60 Titas ticket for Tk 250. In September 2026, a local leader alleged that tickets at Brahmanbaria were going to brokers for Tk 200 to Tk 300. Buy only at the official counter. For intercity tickets, our guide on how to buy a Bangladesh Railway ticket online explains every step.

Titas vs Intercity Trains: Which Should You Take?

Titas is cheap and stops everywhere, but it is slower. Intercity trains such as Mohanagar Provati, Parabat and Turna reach Brahmanbaria in about 2 hours. The Titas train schedule needs 2 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes, depending on the trip.

If you want a fixed seat, speed or an AC coach, check our Dhaka to Brahmanbaria train schedule for the eight intercity trains on this route.

A simple rule: if you can book 10 days ahead and want comfort, choose an intercity seat. If you decide on the same day, travel on a tight budget or live near a small station, Titas is the easier choice.

Which Titas Trip Is Best for You?

  • Office in Dhaka: Titas 33. It reaches Tejgaon at about 8:27 AM and Kamalapur at 8:35 AM.
  • Day trip to Brahmanbaria: go on Titas 34 at 9:45 AM, then come back on Titas 35 at 1:10 PM, or stay longer and take an intercity train home.
  • Going home after work: Titas 36 at 5:45 PM from Kamalapur. It reaches Narsingdi at about 7:14 PM and Bhairab at about 8:05 PM.
  • Students on a budget: any Titas Commuter train, since the fare is far lower than an intercity seat.
  • Small stations: Titas is often the only direct train for places like Khanabari, Hatubhanga, Srinidhi and Paghachang.

Sample trips using the Titas train schedule

Narsingdi student to Dhaka: board Titas 33 at Narsingdi at about 7:09 AM and reach Kamalapur at 8:35 AM. Go home on Titas 36, which leaves Kamalapur at 5:45 PM and reaches Narsingdi at about 7:14 PM.

Brahmanbaria shopper to Dhaka: take Titas 35 at 1:10 PM and reach Kamalapur at 3:30 PM. Titas 36 leaves at 5:45 PM and reaches Brahmanbaria at about 9:02 PM, so you get just over two hours in Dhaka.

Bhairab to Akhaura: Titas 36 leaves Bhairab Bazar at about 8:07 PM and reaches Akhaura at 9:30 PM. This is the only Titas trip that goes beyond Brahmanbaria in the evening.

Families with heavy bags or small children should think twice. Titas can be very crowded at peak times, and standing for three hours is tiring.

Delays, Safety and Travel Tips

Titas uses older engines, and that shows in the news. In July 2026, a Dhaka–Brahmanbaria Titas Commuter train was stuck for about three hours near Bhairab because its engine could not climb onto the Bhairab rail bridge. In June 2025, an Akhaura-bound Titas ran about 8 km in the dark after its headlight failed.

  • Allow extra time: treat the Titas train schedule as a guide and add an hour for important plans.
  • Arrive early: queues at the counter can be long at Kamalapur and Brahmanbaria.
  • Keep valuables close: coaches get packed, so carry your phone and wallet in a front pocket.
  • Carry water: during a long delay there may be no food seller on board.
  • Night trips: Titas 36 reaches Brahmanbaria after 9 PM. Arrange your ride home in advance.
  • Eid rush: before Eid, commuter trains are packed. Leave a day early if you can.
  • Stay safe at doors: never ride on the roof or hang from the door, even when the coach is full.

How to Track Titas Commuter

You can check where Titas is by SMS. Type TR, a space and the train number, then send it to 16318. For example, send TR 33 for the morning trip from Akhaura or TR 34 for the trip from Dhaka. A small operator fee applies.

Tracking is very helpful at small stations, where there may be no announcement and real times often drift from the printed Titas train schedule. Our train tracking guide shows other ways to follow a train live. You can also call the railway hotline 131.
